Spider Bow

Ok....so I'm dumb and I forgot I had a already done a post with a link to instructions on how to make korker ribbon and then how to make the bows.

here's the link:
https://www.theribbonretreat.com/custom/modules/FreeProjects/PDFHowtoMakeKorkerRibbonandBows.pdf

I also found these videos on u-tube that are really good:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAy7daH4u00&feature=PlayList&p=EAF962B59CB3608A&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=70
or
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ykFYUguNyU

Here is a link to instructions on how to seal your ribbon:
https://www.theribbonretreat.com/custom/modules/FreeProjects/PDFSealingRibbonEnds.pdf
(I prefer fray-check on the korker ribbon because it's easier and the wood burning tool on everything else)

So...self explanitory. Make black korker bows and attach googly eyes and a little bow.

Let me know if any of you have trouble and I'll see what I can come up with to help

Big girl hair

Jackie has been letting me know that she doesn't like my little girl hairdo's anymore. They are just stupid and she is telling me what SHE wants now.

So, Rule #1
she doesn't like the curling iron anymore. She wants straight hair.

but this is how she wakes up:

stylish huh

So... We use the flat iron and this is what it turns into:

Give it a little ratt on the top.

and a little on the sides.

throw a bow in the side and this is what we come up with.

good face jack.

Not super glamorous, but it's quick, and it's a happy medium for what I want(sending her not looking like she rolled out of be) and what she wants (who knows).

Flyaway help

This is a good tip for little girls AND horses.
See.....I have princesses & a unicorn.
I'm lucky

start out by pulling up the top of the hair

put the bottom in a pony

see all the flyaways?
This won't do.

spray the hair with some hairspray first and then do a twist braid.

attach to a higher section.

twist that one and attach to the top section

curl & fluff

Kass wore her spider bow today since it's October.
Let me know if any of you would like a tutorial on how to make these & I'll do one.

A little something & a thank you

Ok... So I've been really lazy at this blogging thing for a while.

Here is a little something I made that was really easy.
I have a bow obsession & I needed more space to put my growing collection.
Here's what I came up with:

I took an old picture frame and painted it. Then I cut out "bows" on some vinyl with my cricut.
(I guess you could put in there whatever you want, maybe even A PICTURE....duurrrhh)Then, for my grand finale...I hot glued some ribbon to the back.
HOW AMAZING AM I?
Not too fancy but it does the job.

My Official Thank You!!
Not too long ago I was at Albertson's and was spotted by a really nice woman. She asked if I was the lady with the blog. I was so caught off guard that I pretty much stood there with my thumb up my butt. I didn't even ask her name. How rude. Anyways... This is my way of, hopefully, thanking her for being so sweet. It was one of those days where you're chasing your 4 kids around the store, firmly whispering swear words between clenched teeth in hopes of scaring them into behaving. And...out of nowhere.....came this nice lady that made me smile and not give a s**t what my kids were getting into.

Thanks again!!!!

Crazy Hairdo idea

They did some stupid silly day thing at school.
This is the best we could come up with.

I think your children have to be a little "special" to pull this off.
I know mine are.

I took sections & ratted the shizz out of them. Then I hair sprayed & flat-ironed them to a point.
I know this sounds really stupid after I have preached about making their hair "Healthy", but I figured what the hell. What good is wonderful hair if your life is boring.

Kassie is very "special" here.

From nothing to something- how to- #2

What do you do when your girl is being way cute and you have a whole bunch of good pictures?

You make a Collage!!

This is just like Kassie's but with a few little differences.BEFORE:
I know..I know.. It turns out good though.

She looks like that one tennis player. You know who I mean.. the one that likes girls.

See how the back sticks straight up? That's natural. Her hair grows so weird.

Pull up the top and the sides.

Curl the bottom layer up with the smaller curling iron.

(other side)

still curl this one up with the small curling iron.

Now...when you get to this top part, spray the bottom with some aerosol hairspray and ratt before curling.

it turns out like this.

do the same to the sides.

(other side)

and finally, the very top.

Here, I just lightly ratt it a little more and spread it out.

Here is where I put a little bit of hairspray on her bangs and smooth them to the side, and also bringing forward a little bit of hair in front of her ears.

I ratt a little piece of hair up front so I can secure my clip to it. (I think it helps to keep the clips from sliding out).

Ta Da! All done.

Feel free to email me with any questions if this doesn't make sense.

Tips for better hair

1. Don't wash every day. My friend that does our hair let me know I was BAD MOMMY for washing the girls' hair every day. Who knew? I thought I was doing my job, keeping my kids from being the stinky kid at school. In reality I guess it strips the hair of it's natural oils and makes it weaker, more static-y and all around less healthy.

2. Stimulation. No not that kind!!!!! Kassie had really thin hair around her face & my friend told me that she need more stimulation to make the follicles "wake up". She says you can either brush/comb her scalp, scratch (lightly) or use one of those vibrating brushes to get her hair going.

3. Shampoo & conditioner. Now I'm not sure if this works or not but I thought it's worth a try. I bought the girls Pantene Beautiful Lenghts shampoo & conditioner. I know other brands make products that are supposed to help the hair grow longer & I thought it was worth a try.

4. Cut it. I know!!! Those are the devil's words. It took me 6 years before I finally embraced them and cut Jackie's hair. My friend says that, for some reason, when you bluntly cut off a significant amount, it will grow back faster. This is true. I was starting a fire a while ago & was using some starter fluid to get it going (I know, stupid. You think you can get away with it until you don't). Needless to say, I had a little accident & singed off all my eyelashes. I called my friend to get eyelash extensions because I looked so stupid (maybe because I DESERVED to look stupid) & she wouldn't do it. She said I would be surprised how fast they grew back. I was! They were all the way back in about a month. So I'm confident this will be the same for the girls.

5. Vitamins. I'm sure that most of you give your kids vitamins anyways, but I've always figured if I feed by kids healthy meals they'll get what they need. Anyways, it does make sense that vitamins will give the body what it lacks (no matter how well you feed your kids, there will be days they don't get EVERYTHING) to make the hair grow.

6. Eat more protein. I guess this helps. Hair consists of protein (because hair is keretinized protein) . Nuts, poultry, vegetables, fruits, grains, eggs, will all be good.

I'll add more when I learn more but this is what I've gathered so far

Hope this helps you mom's of wussy hair.

From nothing to something- how to- #1

I've had a few requests on how to do my girls' new hairdo's.
Today's will bee Kassie's & next will be Jackie's.
Pretty much the same hairdo but just different types of hair:
Kassie's is thinner and very wimpy around her face.
Jackie's is a LITTLE thicker and grows every way but what I want it to.

So here we go.

BEFORE

I know, sad... huh.

This looks like a Rogain "before" photo.

I start by clipping up the sides and the top.

Then I divide the bottom into two section & clip the top one up.

Here is what I've been using. I use the small one on the underneath and the bigger one on the top.

So...I curl the very bottom layer & flip it up with the smaller curling iron.

Same thing with the next layer.

Next, I separate a piece from the top section.

I ratt it up a little & curl it under with the big curling iron.

Now, the sides....under with the big curling iron.

Now, finish the top by ratting a little (I spray the roots with a little aerosol hairspray. It helps it hold) and curl under with the big curling iron.

At this point, I stop and arrange the bangs, the top and the other little hairs around the side. I move things around to where I want them to be and then spray it.

Finally I put in a clip. I have some alligator clips with teeth on them (I bought them on ebay) and they seem to be staying in her hair pretty good.

Feel free to email me with any questions if this doesn't make sense.

Bunch of Clips

Last Call For Katie-O

I havn't heard back from you. If I don't by Friday, I'll randomly pick from one of the other comments as a winner.

Now, on to hair.
I'm having fun with this hair. It seems so much thicker and looks better at the end of the day.

I started out by curling it in sections with my tiny curling iron.

Next, I curled the upper part with my bigger curling iron.

Tip:
This is all done on dirty hair. There was already some hairspray left over in her hair, so the curl stayed REALLY good.

Now RATT, RATT, RATT, RATT until your little girl goes stupid!!!

Finally, pull little sections up with tiny clips. They stay in really good and won't slide out since the hair is dirty & ratted.
